The electric steelmaking shop at the company Severstal' is one of the largest such facilities in the metallurgical industry. The amount of power consumed by the shop is equally great, and it also uses a enormous amount of water The combine provides the shop with water from two closed-circulation systems.In the first system, so-called conditionally clean water is pumped to the water-cooled elements of the production equipment. The used (heated) water is then sent back through return pipes to the pumping station, where it is cooled in water-cooling towers and again used in the steelmaking shop.
