European ferro-silicon spot prices are at ?1,140-1,180/tonne ($1,540-1,595/tonne) delivered, unchanged from last month, with trade at the lower end of the price range being done in southern countries. Venezuelan shipments to Europe have tailed off this month after a run-up in shipments in the second quarter. Norwegian ferro-silicon producer Finnfjord Smelteverk is planning to cut production at its plant in the north of the country later this year. The company operates three furnaces; two 20,000 tpy furnaces and one 40,000 tpy furnace.
