摘要

In 2008 a revised secondary national curriculum wasintroduced for 11-year-olds in state-funded education inEngland. It is being introduced across Key Stage 3 (11-14-year-olds) over the subsequent two years. In 2010 therevised secondary national curriculum becomes statutory for15-year-olds. The new secondary curriculum aims to inspireall young people to become successful learners, confidentindividuals and responsible citizens. Schools have increasedflexibility to take ownership of their curriculum and ensurethat it meets learners' needs and exploits local opportunitiesand resources. Each subject is challenged to consider how itcontributes to the overall aims.
