Future vehicle materials? See Corus student design show

A Lotus 2x2 concept car based on a performance driving training vehicle used in China, has won the best vehicle design award in the Corus-sponsored 'Streets Ahead' competition, at the Coventry University MA Automotive Design Show 2003. The winning design, by Meng Peng Hseih, beat-off stiff competition from 26 international students, and was judged to have an innovative approach towards the requirements of motorsport vehicles. A heavy-weight judging panel included Peter Horbury Executive Director of Design at Ford's Premier Automotive Group and representatives from the automotive media, Coventry University and Corus. Jon King, Director of Corus Automotive and chair of the judging panel said, 'Our three prize-winners highlighted an ability to look beyond the style and presentation in order to demonstrate a deep thinking behind their work.' Second prize was awarded to Chenwei Gao for his 'drive back to the Tang Dynasty' design concept.
