Ca(Zn_(13)Nb_(2/3))O_3 powders were synthesized by molten salt synthesis method in NaCI—KCI flux at a low temperature of 700℃ for 2 h, which is lower than that of the conventional solid-state reaction. This simple process involved mixing of the raw materials and salts in a certain proportion. Subsequent calcining of the mixtures led to CaCa(Zn_(13)Nb_(2/3))O_3 powders at 700℃. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques were used to characterize the phase and morphology of the as-prepared Ca(Zn_(13)Nb_(2/3))O_3 powders, respectively. After being sintered at 1200℃ for 2h, the densified Ca(Zn113Nb213)03 ceramics with good microwave dielectric properties of ε_r = 33.9, Q x f = 12790, and τ_f = —45 ppm/℃ have been obtained.
