COMPANIES specialising in the repair of failed electric motors, say that most breakdowns are predictable, particularly where there is a build up of heat in the motor, exposure to conditions that can create condensation, or there's too much dust in the motor's immediate environment. They often see the same problems presenting over and over again and say not enough is done on the preven-tative side to cut maintenance costs and reduce, even eliminate, extended periods of downtime.
