U.S. shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totaled 287,684 units in November 2010, up 2 percent from a revised total of 283,360 units shipped in November 2009. U.S. shipments of air conditioners decreased 2 percent, to 179,655 units, down from a revised total of 182,544 units shipped in November 2009. U.S. shipments of air-source heat pumps increased 7 percent, to 108,029 units, up from a revised total of 100,816 units shipped in November 2009.
