A banana port in the center of Italy

"Wild Peony" is unloading bananas at the Civitavecchia Fruit and Forest Terminal (CFFT). The reefer vessel with a capacity of 500,000 cu.ft was built at the Iwagi Shima 8 Shipyard in Japan in 1998 and belongs to the NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha) reefer pool. It has just arrived from Guayaquil in Ecuador and has already unloaded part of the cargo in Porto Vado (Savona). The next destination is Greece. CFFT has established itself as a fruit port, says Director Steven Clerckx.
