Genetic modification without the introduction of foreign genes might pacify the anti-GMO lobby. There iis global apprehension about consuming foods derived from or containing genetically modified organisms (GMO). Consumers, health and environmental organisations, food manufacturers, farming organisations, governments and even scientists are at odds about the consumption of genetically modified foods, each side claiming the benefits or the disadvantages of the issue.
