INTERSTATE NATURAL GAS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (INGAA) UNVEILS PRO-ACTIVE PLAN FOR INTERSTATE PIPELINE SAFETY; MEASURES WILL COVER MORE OF THE U.S. PIPELINE NETWORK

The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) announced a plan on 7/20/11 to achieve "aggressive" pipeline safety measures, including a commitment to expand federal pipeline integrity management principles to the onshore natural gas transmission system portion operated by INGAA members. INGAA's president and CEO Don Santa discussed the plan with reporters, saying "after many months of hard work by member companies and INGAA staff, we are putting real meat on the bones of our plan to achieve the goal of a perfect safety record. The member companies of INGAA believe that pipeline safety must be the pipeline industry's highest priority, and we believe the commitments we have made today will move us toward our goals."
