BG LNG Suggests Low Throughput Estimate Used by Trunkline LNG to Calculate Fuel and Power Costs May Be Self-Fulfilling Prophesy

BG LNG Services, LLC (BGLS) is protesting the increased fuel and electric power cost charges proposed in a June 30 filing at FERC by Trunkline LNG Co., LLC (RP08-429).BGLS and Trunkline LNG entered into service agreements for all of the firm capacity of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal located in Lake Charles, La. According to the protest, the filing is devoid of any justification for the throughput quantities that Trunkline LNG used to derive the fuel and electric power surcharges and the current power cost adjustment. The only throughput data in the filing supports "a much higher throughput projection."
