Hoof function related to everyday farriery

The European Farriery Championship and Convention, hosted by the BFBA and held at Myerscough at the end of July, offered the opportunity for farriers to learn more about horse's feet. It is well known that people learn in different ways - some prefer to learn hands-on, others like to listen to a lecture or watch a demonstration - all these choices were available. Andrew Poynton was one of five speakers to present a lecture. Andrew qualified in 1985 and gained the Fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) in 1998. He specialises in remedial farriery and is an executive member and examiner for the WCF; his talk surrounded everyday farriery.
