The 14-strong farrier team based at Knightsbridge Barracks look after the 250 cavalry horses that perform ceremonial duties with the regiments of the Household Cavalry - The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals. Life is pretty good for army horses. A couple of hours exercise a day - albeit mainly on London streets - combined with the very best of care provided by the troopers, the farriers and the vets.
