OBITUARY: PROFESSOR KEN IVES

Ken Ives, who died of a heart attack, aged 82, on 8 September, was an internationally recognized authority in the field of drinking water treatment. His research has had an enormous influence on the principles and practice of water filtration and gave him an unrivalled reputation in the subject. He was a founder member of The Filtration Society and its first Vice Chairman in 1964, and he was awarded the Gold Medal in 1983. He was Chairman of the Society in 1965-66.
