Dual-purpose plants flexible to changing lifestyles

Which plants will last at least three weeks when placed up to 3 m on 'either' side of a living room window? These thoughts form the basis of a programme being introduced by the Ball Horticultural Company from research focused on changing lifestyles around the world. It all started last year when the Ball subsidiary PanAmerican Seed used the slogan 'bring the outdoors inside' to spark attention for the indoor use of a range of plants traditionally used only outdoors. Since that time, Ball has continued to evolve this concept. A larger number of plants have been researched to determine what the possibilities are to keep the plants looking nice indoors for a couple of weeks. Besides developing new varieties, the company has also started to research other elements (e.g. packaging, pots) necessary to create lifestyle plant products.
