Pro-tex~R,a new anti-counterfeiting packaging solution developed by Chesapeake Corp.,Richmond,(US),enables consumers to verify the authenticity of a product.Products are assigned a unique alphanumeric character identification code that can be checked against a secure database using a standard mobile phone text message.Consumers registering the code for the first time will receive confirmation from a return text message.However,if the code has already been registered or is not recorded on the database,an instant text message will alert the user.
