This year's NeoCon was one of the best shows I've covered in a very long time. The reason is simple - it lived up to its reputation of being the design show. The last several years felt a little like our industry was tethered to a weak economy. Playing it safe was a response to the design community and its own struggles during the downturn. The energy at NeoCon could be felt -not so much that the crowds were all that larger than in the past few years but that there was a palpable enthusiasm among suppliers and their clients and it played out on the showroom floor as well.
