摘要

Static and shear-induced crystallisation studies were carried out on a glass fibre-reinforced poly(m-xylylene adipamide) with various fibre contents. The crystallisation experiments were performed using calorimetry and a shearing hot stage coupled with an optical microscope. The crystallisation times were measured as a function of the temperature, the shear rate, and the fibre content. In static conditions, no nucleating ability of the fibres was observed. The shear treatment, however, led to a substantial decrease of the crystallisation times for all materials.
