Clariant Mining Solutions introduces emulsifier for explosives

Clariant, a leading supplier of ether amines to the mining industry, has introduced Arkomon XP 1014, a new emulsifier specifically designed to work with low density ammonium nitrate (LDAN). Offered by Clariant Mining Solutions, this new product enables widely available but lower quality LDAN to be used in emulsion explosives to deliver consistent, reliable blast results, resulting in significant savings for companies, Clariant says. Arkomon XP 1014 is not affected by ingredients found in porous LDAN, which often cause destabilization and crystallization of the emulsion.
