As a professional landscape gardener, I learned to balance client demands for horticultural perfection with personal opinions of ecologically sound practices. The preferred level of care determined our choices of organic or chemical products. Some clients wanted to use only organics. Others just wanted their garden to look perfect and didn't care how it happened. My client of choice preferred organic gardening but would allow chemical products under certain circumstances. One common concession was the use of synthetic fertilizers to kick-start the growth of new plantings and to boost the blooms of summer annuals.
