Hundreds of Scottish landowners and tenants face a complicated and uncertain future following a Supreme Court decision. The latest and final legal decb sion in the long-running Salvesen-Riddell case means that in the next 12 months the Scottish government must re-examine Section 72 (10) of the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 2003. Limited partnerships were widely used in Scotland to operate tenancies where the limited partner was the landowner and the "general" partners the day-to-day farming partners.
