Boost for autumn grain prices as futures rally

November wheat futures had struck 120 pound/t as Farmers Weekly went to press on Wednesday (14 July), with markets reacting to fears of yield reductions across the EU and key world grain producing regions. Coupled with this, latest US Department of Agriculture figures showed a slight reduction in production and stocks - adding to upward price presssure in markets. Futures markets opened at 119.5 poundG/t on Monday but eased slightly on Tuesday to 117 pound/t for November settlement. However, the samecontract had rallied to reach 120 pound/t on Wednesday.
