Scratching the glass surface:Using XPS for improved glass quality control

摘要

A number of important issues and developments in glass science and technology were recently highlighted at the 9th ESG conference/annual meeting of the International Commission on Glass.These included rising energy costs,the availability of raw materials,stricter legislation(particularly on glass production emissions)and new glass compositions.Therefore,it is more critical than ever to guarantee that glass is manufactured to the highest possible standards and that quality control checks are put in place throughout the production process.
