With an estimated sow population of around four million, Vietnam's pig producing market is currently undergoing a boom that shows no sign of abating. AS IN MANY Asian countries, pork is the number one meat in Vietnam. This is hardly surprising as virtually everyone living in the countryside keeps a few pigs. The sow population for Vietnam is reckoned to be around four million, although 50 per cent of that figure are 'backyard' animals, so that figure will tend to fluctuate.
