Future trends for poultry meat products

Great advances have been made in recent years in poultry processing and packaging. But, as Dr. P T Sreenivas explains, there is still room for further development. In many countries, the poultry industry is renowned for its efficiency and cost effective operations, which are associated with the most intensive systems of production and processing used for meat animals. The increase in poultry meat production and consumption around the world is even larger compared with other animal meat products. Poultry meat production continuous to expand worldwide and is facilitated by technological advances that have led to improvements in processing machinery and a high level of plant automation. The level of automation mainly depends on the labour costs in the producing country, to justify the return on investment of equipment.
