The general public has never showed so much interest in scientific topics as it does today. Therefore, in new courses students learn to think and feel like journalists, who are, however, able to think and understand scientists, as well. Combining both skills results in trained science journalists. Creating this new profession was an important step to further enhance communication in our ever more cross-thinking society in which different communities learn to think outside their own box. Not without challenges. Entering my university editorial office was like entering any open plan office: four big tables, eleven students, one tutor and twelve note-books. No one speaks, the sole noise is made by key strokes on the keyboards. The table tops are covered in newspapers, water bottles and plastic coffee cups from the cafeteria, which are mixing up with the cable tangle. Upon entering the atmosphere is intense until someone asks a question like: "Do you all know what umami is supposed to be?" And a discussion is started. The first rule for writing a science article is: Act on the assumption, this text is for your best friend who's a linguist or maybe a historian.
