Nutec - From Cradle to Cradle: A Concept without Alternatives

You pay it all! Until the life cycle of any given product runs out, the customer has to pay it completely. This means that you pay for the basic research that leads to the development of the product through taxes spent for universities. You pay for the expended energy through the subsidies of your government for nuclear power-plants, green energy and the powergrid. You pay the price of the product including the profits for the shareholders. And in the end you pay for the garbage removal and the ecological damages caused by the product and its production during its life cycle. With 6 billion humans on earth this result in severe problems as you can see if you look out of your window. Europe and especially Germany was forced by changes in the spectrum of political parties in the parliament, to work on these problems for the last 20 years - with visible success. And by the way - this was very successful on the economic level, too. Germany today is the worldwide export leader in technical equipment for environmental protection, solar and wind energy, wastewater treatment and recycling. But, regarding the worldwide problems caused by pollution, this is nothing but drop in the bucket. If we think a step beyond, we see the need for more radical changes in the way we develop and produce products. Not bad is not good enough. But in fact there is a big advantage we have in facing the challenges. Nature shows us the way. In the ecosystem all elements are reused in a never ending cycle. CO_(2) seems to be responsible for global warming. In the history of our planet the accumulation of carbon in and for the biosphere was a difficult and long lasting challenge. It is stupid and expensive to blast such an important resource into our atmosphere, although we have the opportunity to use it for the production of biomass. The solution is: Put the carbon back to biosphere and leave it there.
