Cryogenic insulation restricts the inflow of atmospheric heat into the pipe or process equipment keeping the Liquid cold and allowing it to retain its form. In a gas plant, cryogenic insulation is a critical path activity, and in the majority of locations where insulation is installed in an LNG plant, access is limited and restricted. Due to the simplicity of Cetrafoam's installation process, labour requirements are reduced by up to 60 per cent. This means fewer installers are required on site at the peak of the process allowing for installation to be completed months earlier than when using traditional polyisocyanurate radical (PIR) rigid foam insulation. Given the simplicity of the installation process, there is also less need for highly skilled workers which is a critical factor in today's tight labour market.
