India will hold a series of concessions for gas-fired power plants that burn regasified LNG imports, the country’s cabinet committee on economics said on Wednesday. The mechanism envisages collective “sacrifices” by central and state governments in the form of tax exemptions on regasified supply, the committee said. “Gas transporters and re-gasification terminals have agreed to reduce their transportation tariff, marketing margin and re-gasification charges on the incremental [regasified LNG],” the committee said.
