The UK government has withdrawn the GBP 1 billion (USD 1.51 billion) in funding set aside for carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, the department of energy and climate change (DECC) confirmed on Wednesday. "Following the chancellor's autumn statement, HM Government confirms that the GBP 1 billion ring-fenced capital budget for the carbon capture and storage (CCS) competition is no longer available", DECC said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
