NOCs join forces in bid to develop TAPI pipeline

The state gas companies of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India have formed a company to build, own and operate the proposed 1,800 km Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said this week. The ADB, appointed as the transaction advisor for the pipeline project in November 2013, said that Turkmengas, Afghan Gas Enterprise, Pakistan’s Inter State Gas Systems and GAIL of India will all own equal stakes in the TAPI pipeline company.
