Many US LNG export projects “will fail” – BG Group’s Spomer

There are currently 11 applications pending at the US Department of Energy (DOE) for licenses to export LNG to non-Free Trade Agreement countries, but “many of these projects will fail,” according to Betsy Spomer, senior vice president, global business development at BG Group.Speaking to Gas Matters Today’s sister publication LNG Business Review in an exclusive interview, Spomer said that the projects will not survive “for reasons specific to the individual project, such as local opposition or developer capability”.
