BP sees natural gas as fastest growing fossil fuel

BP expects natural gas to be the fastest growing fossil fuel globally to 2030, with demand growing at an average annual rate of 2.1%, BP said in its Energy Outlook 2030 published on Wednesday. BP also predicts that non-OECD countries will account for 80% of the global increase in consumption, with an annual demand growth rate of 2.9% to 2030. The energy major said that growth in gas demand will be supported by fuel substitution, especially in the OECD, triggered by regulatory changes and lower relative prices.
