Rotary hearth gas carburizing furnaces with simultaneous production of different case hardening depths

The author illustrates the possibilities and advantages of the gas heated rotary hearth gas carburizing furnaces with zone separation for heat treatment of gear components with different case hardening depths. The quenching of gear components on trays by means of oil baths as well as the press hardening will be discussed on basis of reference plants. The fact that the transportation of the components resp. trays causes only minimal wear is especially pointed out.
