New Hope Inks Novel CTL-Synthetic Crude Technology Deal

Australia-based New Hope (NHC) officials announced Sep- tember 14 that they've cut a deal with Canada-based Quantex Research to acquire an initial 25% equity interest in a 25-year, exclusive worldwide licensed coal-to liquids (CTL) technology. "The process has superior environmental performance over many of the competitor technologies and [coal] can be upgraded to produce synthetic crude oil (SCO) and high grade synthetic coke with high carbon conversion rates from a range of coal types," according to NHC.
