This paper discusses the results of a questionnaire survey on eating habits carried out among 334 students of six middle schools in Jeonju, South Korea, during April-May 2011., a total of 334 students in the 7th and 8th grade of six middle schools in Jeonju, South Korea, was interviewed about their eating habits using a standardized questionnaire. These students were composed of 49.4% girls and 50.6% boys, whose average ages were 15.3+or-0.7 and 15.5+or-0.5 years, respectively. 85.5 % of the female students and 82.2% of the male students were of normal weight. 51.1% of the girls and 66.3% of the boys reported eating breakfast daily. All respondents reported eating lunch at school regularly, while eating dinner regularly was reported by 67.3% of female students and 84.6% of male students. 84.2% of the girls and 79.9% of the boys reported snacking at least daily in between meals, with the favorite snacks being biscuits, fruits, bread, ramen, ddeokbokki and gimbab. Significant differeces were noted between sexes with regards eating frequency and specific food preferences.Notes En version available online at DOI 10.4455/eu.2013.038
