Slower sales restrict rises

In March, polymer producers' plans to raise prices had to be shelved in the face of weaker than expected demand. LLDPE and polystyrene were the only gainers. LLDPE prices increased by EUR20/tonne due to tight supply. General-purpose polystyrene prices gained EUR30/ tonne after a rise of EUR49/tonne in the March SM contract price. LDPE prices were mosdy unchanged along with HDPE and PVC. Polypropylene prices were down EURl5/tonne and bottle-grade PET prices slipped by EURl0/tonne on lower feedstock costs.
