Last month it soon became apparent that producer calls for price increases of between EUR40-50/tonne for L/LDPE would be largely unheeded. Supply of LLDPE butene grades and specialty C6 grades were relatively short and notations moved forward between EUR20-40/tonne. The biggest price gains for LLDPE occurred in the UK due to the weakness of the pound against the euro. LDPE grades, on the other hand, were more readily available and prices remained more or less unchanged or even softened slightly.
