Having seen their margins eroded during the final quarter of last year, sellers of L/LDPE were in an uncompromising mood in January. They forced through price increases in the range EUR60-80/tonne, which in some cases was sufficient to compensate for the EUR78/tonne hike in quarter one C2 costs. Most producers had originally announced planned price increases of EUR100/tonne from 1st January.
