China's largest producer of plastics bags - Huaqiang Plastics -put itself into liquidation just days after the country's government announced restrictions on free carrier bags. The company, which has two large production bases in the Henan province of central China, turns over around Yuan 2.2 billion (EUR200m) and produced around 100,000 tonnes of bags a year, around 90% thin gauge products.
