摘要

High-volume fly ash concrete (HVFAC) is sustainable and has economical and environmental advantages. In India, presently less than 50% of fly ash (FA) produced is consumed. Such low consumption may be attributed to low-lime in FA, poor quality of FA and codal provisions. Suitably designed HVFAC can solve major problems of concrete construction industry, if sufficient early strength can be achieved as required by the Indian construction industry. In the present study, a large number of relevant papers are discussed to understand the problems associated with low-lime FA HVFAC. Also considering the presently available state of art knowledge in FA concrete, practical remedial measures are suggested for making HVFAC more popular in Indian construction industry, which needs experimental verification.
