Prof. J.K.M. Gevers, editor-in-chief (1994-2011)

The first issue of the European Journal for Health Law dates back to January 1994. In his editorial, the late Professor HJ.J. Leenen, who had taken the initiative to start the Journal, wrote: 'I was very happy to find the Professors in health law J.K.M. Gevers of the University of Amsterdam and Mrs. H.D.C. Roscam Abbing of the University of Utrecht prepared to act as editors-in-chief. It soon became apparent that Leenen had indeed made a very good choice. Supported by an editorial board and an advisory board, the tandem Gevers-Roscam Abbing has succeeded in giving the Journal a strong and durable presence at the European health law scene between 1994 and 2005.
