摘要

The aim of this study was to investigate the dormancy characteristics of Asparagus officinalis Linn. 'Applo' in temperate climates. Contents of endogenous hormones in bud were examined by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The result showed that asparagus plants underwent dormancy induced by low temperature, need a chilling duration to restore vigor for bud break and spear growth. In northern China, 2 degrees C for 30 days or 5 degrees C for 45 days was the suitable chilling duration for 'Applo' dormancy breaking. During winter time or chilling preservation, content of gibberellic acid (GA(3)), indoleacetic acid (IAA) and zeatin riboside (ZR) in buds of 'Applo' remained relatively stable, while abscisic acid (ABA) content rose and went down, which indicated that change of ABA was closely related to the dormancy and dormancy-breaking of asparagus.
