Biogas plant with gas upgrading facility comes online in UK

Construction began in June 2014 and was complete in six months; since 12 December Icknield Gas has been feeding green energy into the existing Southern Gas Networks grid. Using a combination of pig slurry, farm by-products and energy crops, the facility is able to deliver an annual energy value of around 35 million kWh of biomethane.
