Baby kiwrfruit is one for the future: Following a successful commercial campaign in 2008, the Italian soft fruit specialist continues to branch out into new product areas
Not much larger than a grape, the kiwi arguta, otherwise known as baby kiwi, is the latest addition to the already ample basket of products marketed by leading Italian soft fruit cooperative Sant'Orsola. This season, the company supplied I25g packs ofthe fruit - billed as a perfect combination of convenience and nutrition - to Auchan stores across Italy between October and December as well as to traditional fresh produce markets around the country. Although the fruit is not yet widely known in Italy, the Trento-based company is confident the product will be well received by consumers and customers alike. "The baby kiwi is sweet and tasty thanks to its high natural sugar levels," comments Sant'Orsola marketing manager Sara Bellini. "This little, green fruit has a soft skin and no fur, which makes it very practical for eating whole."
