For a youngster growing up at the racetrack, there are lessons to be learned during the early morning and late night hours on the shedrow. Nights are quiet on the back-stretch, but there is a restlessness in anticipation not of the rising sun, but ofthe activity to come in pre-dawn hours when horses go to the track to gallop. I felt the restlessness too.
