New data on rare xylophilous flies of the genus Xylophagus (Diptera, Xylophagidae)

Poorly studied species of the genus Xylophagus Meig. are considered. Data on their distribution and main distinctions have been unavailable because of their rare occurrence. The structure of male and female genitalia in X. junki Szil., X. bungei Pl.,and X. admirandus Kriv. et Man. is characterized for the first time. A new species, X. sibiricus N. Krivosheina et M. Krivosheina sp. n., and a new subspecies, X. matsumurae inermis N. Krivosheina et M. Krivosheina subsp, n., are described. The variability of X. matsumurae is discussed.
