摘要

An examination of larvae of 16 species of Symphyta by electron microscopy has shown that the sensory organs on the antennae are formed by small basiconic sensilla and papillae and also shallow hollows, innervated by 2-7 sensory cells. The apical antennal segment in the larva of Allatus sp. bears pore plates, which, judging from their infrastructure, are olfactory receptors. Two groups of sensory structures, including the basiconic and trichoid sensilla and papillae, are distinguished on the apical segments of the maxillary and labial palps. The subapical segment of the maxillary palps in the larva bears digitiform sensilla. The position of the families examined at the base of the phylogenetic tree of Hymenoptera testifies that the relatively simpleorganization of the sensory apparatus of the antennae and mouthpart appendages in the Symphyta larvae is the original character.
