Morphology and karyotypes of new blackfly species of the genus Montisimulium Rubzov (Diptera, Simuliidae) from Western Pamir

Four new species of the genus Montisimulium Rubzov are described from Tajik Badakhshan on the basis of the karyotypic and external morphological characters. The karyotypic characteristics and taxonomic position of the genus are determined.
