A Contribution to the Knowledge of the Tabanid Fauna (Diptera, Tabanidae) of the Zilair Plateau

Twenty-eight tabanid species have been recorded from the Zilair Plateau (Southern Urals, Republic of Bashkortostan). The most abundant species are Tabanus bromius bromius, T. cordiger, Hybomitra bimaculata, Haematopota pluvialis, Chrysops pictus, andChr. caecutiens caecutiens. T. maculicornis, T. autumnalis, Silvius vituli, T. sudeticus, Chr. relictus, and some others occur less frequently. Haematopota crassicornis, Hybomitra cies belong to the Euro-Siberian forest faunal complex, and one species, Haematopota pollidula, to the Afro-European arid steppe faunal complex.
